June 1, 2004 God will always be on your part. But the question is that whether you are on His side. When I resigned my job, I had many reasons. Those were reasonable to some extent. And on future, I prepared a step by step plan to achieve something, more on the material side...No. I'm not talking on the divine thing, even though it is in the picture. Right now, Let's look into another aspect, the emotional side. Where does the emotions figure in your future plans? I can justify that emotions are a damn thing if you don't have the financial support. But, is that an answer? Last day, on my way to home, I saw two children, a brother and sister, playing on the field. They were poor, living in tents and possibly didn't have lunch that day. And they were playing so happily that they don't care anything around them. I could see joy written over their face. That was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen in Bangalore, a zillion times beautiful than the lalbagh gardens and the gorgeous M. G. road and commercial street. If I say about the complex equations of financial security and the emotional quotient to them, they will probably laugh at me. How can they be so happy? I'm blessed with everything...everything that they can't even dream of...Or am I missing something.... For the time being let's leave the material differences like home, money and other pleasures I have and they don't have. Now what...? Let's compare...From now 'I' changes to 'we' (because I think I'm not alone). We live for the future which is still to come. And we are not living for the present. We go to schools, colleges...only to get a job in the future...after getting a job, he wants to get promoted to the highest position...only to get reputation and better payment in the future...and at the never ending list grows. We are not satisfied. Never. Our prayers to God never ends. And they...they are happy. They live every moment of their life (as in the advertisement). They are not ruining their life thinking of their future which is still far away. They live in the present. Whatever privileges they get are bonuses. Food, dress and anything they get are purely bonuses. They are happy and they are more happy. Not thinking of the future...??? Sounds absurd? What do you think? Live in the present and enjoy every moment of life like anything ! No...I won't recommend that. So what should we do... ...........................................to be continued... |
